The latest speculation about the upcoming flagship iPhone for the fall adds a couple of twists: support for the Apple Pencil stylus and a 512GB storage option. That's what TrendForce's prognosticators predict in a press release issued by the analyst firm. These new offerings could certainly be to compete with Samsung's recently released Galaxy Note 9 that offers stylus support, a 512GB configuration, plus a 6.5-inch OLED screen (the iPhone may have a 6.4-inch AMOLED).

I still remember what Steve Jobs said about using a stylus on a phone during the announcement of the original iPhone in 2007. On a screen that small, using a stylus would offer no great advantage. Also, charging the stylus from an iPhone battery, even on the larger iPhone models, would use a greater percentage of the total battery life compared with charging the stylus with an iPad.
