MacRumors reports today on a new rumour emanating from Chinese micro-blogging network Weibo, which says that according to sources in Apple’s supply chain, this year’s iPhone line-up could be bundled with a new 18W USB-C power adapter that comes complete with USB-C to Lightning cables for the purposes of faster charging.
Apple is apparently about to upgrade to USB-C for all of its forthcoming devices this year, with the new iPhones all getting a redesigned 18W power adapter that is capable of fast-charging thanks to the bundled USB-C to Lightning cable.
MacRumors is not able to vouch for the veracity of this rumour, as the source does not have a record (either good or bad) of reporting Apple rumours, appearing to be a new source, but it would certainly be a very logical move for Apple to move all its devices over to USB-C power adapters as that would bring them in line with its Mac range.
