3D Movies on the iPhone Coming Soon

Business Insider is getting pretty excited about their hands-on experience with an app that brings you 3D movies on your iPhone. According to their preview of the 3DeeCentral app, which provides online access to a 3D movie store, it’s “awesome!” And the guy in the YouTube video clip that we have for you seems pretty impressed too! The app comes from a company called Spatial View, and has just been submitted to Apple for approval. In order to use the app, you first have to slip a screen over your iPhone’s screen, which enables you to see the 3D video without having to wear special glasses. The screen will set you back around $20 when it goes on sale later this fall, when it will initially only be available for the iPhone 3G and 3GS, with iPhone 4 and iPad versions to follow.

Business Insider says that it doesn’t expect the app to be a big seller initially, as the content available in the 3D store will be fairly limited at launch, and obviously, as good as the 3D movies look, they’re still not as impressive as when viewed on a larger screen with glasses, but it’s certainly an exciting glimpse into the future, and seeing a 3D Movie right then and there on your iPhone is still pretty awesome!
