4S and Cloud Setup

For some reason I cannot set up iCloud. I put in my Apple ID and password and it keeps coming back and saying:

"This Apple ID's email address cannot be verified. Change your Apple ID's email address at appleid.apple.com to sign in to MobileMe."

I am sure I have the correct ID and password.

Any ideas?
