The iPhone 4S sales arent fading out as one might expect would happen on the dawn of the arrival of the next generation iDevice and we have the numbers to prove that. According to a new survey among Apple enthusiasts located in the United States, 73% of customers purchased the iPhone 4S. Of those, 38% switched to iPhones from Android or BlackBerry handsets.
Consumer Intelligence Research Partners were in charge of the survey that dates back to April of this year. Thus they provide some important data about the growing amount of people who chose to switch from Android or BlackBerry and go instead for the Apple option. The numbers have increased from 29% to 38% since the last survey was conducted back in February. The analysis included 7,348 subjects.
The 16GB version of the iPhone 4S turned out to be the most popular choice for consumers with 50% of people polled in the survey choosing this option. The 32GB version managed to score 34% of preferences, while 16% of customers opted for the model with biggest capacity the 64GB handset.
Drawing the line, almost three quarters of iPhone customers chose to buy the latest alternative of Apple smartphones, while 22% were content to settle for the older version the iPhone 4. The previous version comes equipped with a substantial price cut and is now available for purchase with a $99 price plus a two year contract. The 3GS version comes with an even more attractive deal, theres no contract involved, but even so managed to attract only 5% of customers.
