If you are a fairly tech savvy person who likes to tinker with your electronic devices a bit, then you might be intrigued to know that your handy iPhone has some extra features which can only be found by accessing its hidden menus.
Most of these menus are designed to assist techs in trouble-shooting problems. Because of this, we caution you to be careful fiddling with these settings. Most of them are probably safe, but that's not necessarily always the case. If you are undaunted by this warning, feel free to experiment. Here's the list:
- *#06# – Displays IMEI
- *#43# + “Call” – Displays call waiting status
- *3001#12345#* + “Call” – Accesses a hidden Field Test menu
- *43# + “Call” – Enables call waiting
- #43# + “Call” – Disables call waiting
- *#21# – Displays call forwarding status
- *33*pin# – Enables call barring
- ##002# + “Call” – Disables all call forwarding
- #33*pin# – Disables call barring
- *#5005*7672# + “Call” – Displays your carrier’s message center phone number
- *3370# + “Call” – Enables “Enhanced Full Rate” and improves voice quality on GSM networks (may impact battery life)
- #31#phone-number + “Call” – Blocks caller ID for the current phone call
