I'll try to find a way to get rid of this

You should be able to plug it into iTunes with an AT&T sim inserted and it will activated...

Check the Hacktivate option in sn0wbreeze upon creating the custom firmware, then use iReb (www.ih8sn0w.com) to enter Pwnd DFU Mode and restore with iTunes to the firmware you just cooked (the Hacktivated one). Good luck.

So I just bought an iphone off ebay, and it's already jailbroken with Cydia. She was using tmobile, and said all you have to do is put your sim in and go. The modem firmware is 05.16.02 Are you telling me it's bricked. I have AT&T by the way, I just don't want to 'HAVE TO' sign up for their data plan as I have wifi at home and work and that's where I'm at 90% of the time.

Thanks for a quick response.

No no your phone is not broken, you just need to get an unlock for it, unfortunately there is no unlock for that base band at the moment except of course using a t-mobile sim card, but if you are desperately looking into using the device, you might think about getting gevey sim unlocker, it's really not secure from the purchase to the utilization of the gevey sim. Most of it are scams are 90% of chances that you waist your money or you end up with a lot of troubles with the device. I do not know if it's possible to get an iPad baseband into your phone and then unlock it using available unlocking tools. I will do a proper research before advising that ipad baseband upgrade, unless some member of the forum here know about it very well and bring inputs to help you to find your way out of this matter.

Thanks for the reply. So I'm out of luck then?

Yes you can upgrade the baseband to 06.15.00 using snowbreeze tool, but just so you know, there will not be any gps while on that baseband, and since you are at home 90% of the time, I think that it shouldn't be of a big deal. Now I really have a very limited knowledge about the baseband upgrading so I will not be able to direct you through this, instead you will be patient until those who already experienced it come to help you out. You can hope for now that you are able to use the phone the way it means to be very soon.
