Adding a phone number to Apple ID

Hi. My partner and I share the same Apple ID. He has an I phone 4s and I have an apple 5s. This morning I received a 2 separate messages on my phone that said something to the effect that my Partners phone had added my phone number to their email o that they could link my phone number to my Apple ID to use with iMessage and FaceTime. I am not sure what this means and whether or not I should be concerned. Does this enable my partner to view my sent and received texts or my emails?

If so, please advice me on what steps I should take.

I've deleted the other post you made on this same topic. Multiple threads on the same topic can fracture any resulting conversations, making them hard to follow, as well as being against our rules.

Those messages simply mean that your partner can now use either your phone number or email address to contact you with iMessages and FaceTime. It doesn't mean that they can see all your messages. All they can see is any message threads between the two of you, not any messages between you and somebody else.
