Adding insurance to iPhone?

My dads iPhone was stolen out of his truck a couple weeks back so now he wants a new one, but doesn't want to pay the retail price. I'm planning on grabbing one from Craiglist for him, but is there a way to insure it?

You're a good son. He'll be happy unfortunately I don't think you can add insurance on a used phone. Actually let me take that back. If you're father owns a home/rent you might be able to add it to his house/renters insurance...
