Adding Pictures To Contacts

Hi: I have a brand new iPhone 6+ and I am having a problem adding photos to contacts. I get through the scaling and positioning step and the photo saves just fine as re-scaled. Problem is, when I return to the contact, the original, unscaled photo is back! And, if I just wait about 10 seconds, the photo will re-scale as I watch.What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Are you clicking on save edit? There are two ways to assign a photo to a contact. Go to a photo saved on your iPhone and click on it. Click edit, edit it as you choose then click on the rectangle with the arrow on top. Then click on assign to contact and pick the contact and save. i find that is easier for me than doing it directly from the contact page.
