AirDrop????

Hi all. New to the IPhone family but am really loving it. I was wondering if you can use the AirDrop feature on my MacBook Pro to AirDrop to my IPhone 5? I have not been able to find this answer on the net so hopefully someone here has an answer. Thank you

No specific files. I was playing around and wondered if It could happen. I have found that if I can't move a file because I don't have access to ITunes I just do it through my dropbox account.

Ooooo, that explains why it's not working for me. I was under the impression it was apple device to apple device. Not Mac to Mac.

Airdrop is certainly not just Mac to Mac. This screenshot shows Airdrop in the control center of my iPad 4.

Ok, then HOW does it work? I've tried and tried and tried again. We are each using the same wifi connection, the AirDrop is set for "everyone" but still unable to do anything.

If you go to this site, you can download the iPhone manual for iOS 7 on PDF. http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf Once downloaded, go to page 31, it explains how to use Airdrop. You can open this PDF in iBooks and save it for reference.
