Analog clock with second hand

Inquiry - the analog clock on my icon screen sometimes locks up and does not advance. If I reset the iPhone 8 or go to some other app like my compass heading, it will then begin to work correctly again.

Also, the clock face on the icon screen is very small and I would like to enlarge it but I do not know if this is possible.

If you’re talking about the app icon for the stock clock app on the iPhone, neither it nor any other app icon can be enlarged. When the time on the icon stops advancing, is the click app itself still working? Does opening and closing the app, without going to another app, fix the problem?
