Alright... I have an old 1st gen touch, a iPhone 3g, and a iPhone 1st gen, which are obviously no longer supported. There is starting to become a shortage of apps to work on these, especially the 1st gen iPhone/touch's with are maxed out at 3.1.3..

My question is, why cant I download an ipa, and edit the app requirements so that they will install? I'm fairly sure that 99% of the apps will install and run, the makers (Or apple forcefully encouraging us to upgrade) just put an OS limit because they may lag, or be a bit slow.

Now, before you tell me that it can't be done, just think. If it was added in the files, it can be taken out. I just need to know how.

For the most part, all I'm wanting is google, netflix, ebay, and a good VPN app.

Thanks!

You can do it, just that you'll be getting crashes or extremely lengthy freeze times while your device attempts to free up RAM

I have the same problem with my 1st gen iPod touch.

I just mainly use it now for listening to music whilst commuting to work.

One resolution would be to sell your 1st gen and buy a newer model.

Oh, I have newer devices, I just like using these older devices.

Willerz2, how would i go about editing them? I have everything needed, I just don't know where the requirements are located.

Yeah me too! I just use my 1st gen touch for music. I can't even sell it since it's the 1st apple product I bought. Really sentimental. hihihi
