app crashes

For the first time on my 3GS I can't open a app. When I first touch the app it stays on for for one second. tried deleting and reinstalling with no luck. tried powering down with no luck. works fine on iPad. any ideas?

It is a Yamaha AV control. Works on our other iPhone and iPad but not on this iPhone.

I don't know of any updates and I uninstalled/installed probably a dozen times with no luck. Still works fine on the other iPhone and iPad.

Have you tried closing all the apps in the multitasking bar and rebooting?

Is the other phone a iPhone 4? Perhaps there is a bug with the app only on the 4G? Check the reviews to see if anyone else is complaining of the same problem...

They are both 3GS purchased on the same day. I tried your suggestion but had no luck. Did a system restore yesterday and still no luck. any other suggestions? Did not see any other complaints on this issue.

Restore via iTunes? Im assuming your not jailbroken? Is there any other problems with your phone? I don't think apple will do anything about just one app not working. You've done everything I would.

It's a long shot but put your phone in air plane mode and try opening the app...

Yes from iTunes and no it is not jailbroken. No other problems with the phone. I tried air plane mode with no luck. I do have one question about doing a restore. After restore, should I "set up as a new iPhone"?

If you set up as new phone your phone will be how it was when it came out of the box. You will loose all texts, photos videos etc. The only things you will be able to keep is your contacts, music and anything bought from the app or iTunes store.

If you restore from a back up then your phone will be exactly as you had it before you restored...
