Right, basically im having a very annoying problem with the app store, it wont let me update or download an app without saying cant connect to the app store/itunes, can somebody tell me my problem

May seem obvious... but have you updated your iTunes to the latest version, 10.6?
Erm.... Nooo, if i do will i loose all of my songs, apps, tones, videos of itunes on my laptop or on my phone?

You're not doing anything w/ your phone... just updating iTunes on your computer.

In your iPhone go to settings> general> reset> reset all settings/
After it's done, go back to the apps store, login and see if it will happen again. This is only if it's your iPhone app store having trouble.

Will it delete any of my stuff like music apps
No. Nothing will be erase. Only all settings will e set back to the "default" settings that come w/ the phone.
