App to turn on location

Is there any app that would for example, be able to turn location on with a text and turn locatemyphone on? I recently got my phone stolen and I feel it would be awesome to implement this to prevent future thefts

Find my iPhone in iOS 5.x already does that. It basically waits for a push notification and then replies back with a GPS position. You can even tell it not to show the icon while it happens.

Ya, that feature is already built into your iPhone, just go into the settings and under iCloud turn on "Find My Phone" then you can locate your phone from any device with internet access by logging into your iCloud account. You can also send a message to the phone, lock it, or remotely wipe it.

so for example if someone steals my phone when location services are off, could I text a codeword and turn it back on? And Track him too?

Location services and iCloud both need to be on for it to work natively.

Ya, you need to leave location services on all the time if you want Find My Phone to work.
