MacRumors reports that Apple has added a second message to its Chinese website referring to the battery shutdown problem that has been affecting some iPhone 6s owners. In the new message, Apple mentioned more customers “outside of the affected range” who had also been plagued with their iPhone 6s devices shutting down unexpectedly.
“In an effort to gather more information, we are including additional diagnostic capability in an iOS software update which will be available next week” wrote Apple. “This will allow us to gather information over the coming weeks which may potentially help us improve the algorithms used to manage battery performance and shutdown. If such improvements can be made, they will be delivered in future software updates.”
Last month Apple launched a repair program for affected iPhone 6s units, as well as a tool to help you see if your phone is affected so that you can then avail yourself of the repair program.
