So, I recently installed the iOS 18.1 beta on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple AI was too tempting to wait until release! The new conversational awareness in Siri is decent, although I would like Siri to be able to hold a longer conversation. For quick tasks, like asking for the weather of a city, and then the humidity without specifying the city again, it works great. But if Siri hangs up on you, or ends the prompt before you are done, it is just like old Siri.
iMessage summaries are so-so. For group chats, it is fantastic to get a summary of what everyone is discussing. For long texts though, I wish I could still see a preview of the message before reading, not just the summary. The summaries can be situationally aware, or unaware. If you get the latter, be ready for confusion.
Those are the main AI features I use every day. Personally I am not a fan of Apple's Mail client, so the email summary and rewriting are not for me. The Photos memory creation is fun but I do not see myself using it all that much.
Anyone else able to try it out? What do you guys think? Am I missing out on something?
