Macworld reports that Apple has today launched a recycling initiative in the UK, France and Germany very similar to the one it expanded upon last August in the US. In the US version, customers would receive an Apple gift card in return for turning in their old iPhone or iPad. In the European version of the scheme, called the Apple Recycling Programme, you will actually get rewarded with cold, hard cash! According to the programmes website, all you have to do is click on the Get started button on the website and tell Apple about your old iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC (working or not), and Dataserv, which is handling the service, will tell you if your device is eligible and estimate the fair market value of said device. Theyll even send you a pre-paid shipping label so that you can ship it to them for verification. If everything checks out to their satisfaction, the money will be paid directly into your bank account.
