Apple has today announced that the iPhone 4S will be coming to China and 21 other countries on Friday, January 13, namely: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Botswana, British Virgin Islands, Cameroon, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Grenada, Guam, Guinea Conakry, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Niger, Senegal, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos and Uganda.
Customer response to our products in China has been off the charts, said Tim Cook, Apples CEO. With the launch in China next week, iPhone 4S will be available in over 90 countries making this our fastest iPhone rollout ever.
This is a massive boost for Apple of course, with China being such a huge market. As MacRumors points out, China Unicom is currently Apples exclusive iPhone carrier in China, and it looks like it might be staying that way, with no mention in Apples press release of any other carriers taking the iPhone 4S in China, although it could be that news won't be released until nearer the time.
