Since the release of the iPhone 6S models, we've been seeing an increase in rumors regarding the iPhone 7, expected to be released this year. But whatever Apple decides to call it, this year's iPhone models should have a new design and plenty of new features and upgrades.

Spotted on Twitter by user Chase Fromm on Tuesday, string of code indicated that Apple might be looking into adding ultra-fast wireless data technology to iOS under the moniker 'Li-Fi'. While code strings have just begun to appear in iOS 9.1, Apple filed a patented for the technology back in 2013. Li-Fi is a light based technology, which can theoretically bring speeds of up to 224 gigabits a second, whereas the current 802.11ac Wi-Fi caps out at a few gigs.
