Just before the scheduled launch of watchOS 2, Apple found an unexpected bug in the new mobile firmware. TechCrunch was able to get the full text of Apple's notice:
“We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected,” an Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch. “We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly.”
While the golden master version of watchOS 2 has been available to developers since last week's 'Hey Siri' event, the public will need to wait. No word on how long it will take Apple to tweak the firmware, nor has an expected release date been shared.
