Encouraging news for Apple today from AppleInsider, which reports on new data from comScore via its MobiLens report on the US smartphone market. The new data, for the three-month period ending April 2013, reveals that the iPhones marketshare is growing at a faster rate than that of Samsung. According to comScore, both Apple and Samsungs marketshare has increased over the period in question, but Apples share is growing faster, up to 39.2% in April 2013 from 37.8% in January 2013, representing an increase of 1.4%. In contrast, Samsungs share rose from 21.4% to 22.0% in the same time period, showing growth of 0.6%. This also puts Apples lead over Samsung as the largest smartphone manufacturer to 17.2% as opposed to the previous lead of 16.4%. [/FONT]
