According to Apple CEO's recent conference call with analysts, Apple Music is currently sitting on thirteen million subscribers. Attempting to chase down Spotify with 30 million, Apple is now offering its music streaming service at half price for students.

Students enrolled in eligible colleges or universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand can now subscribe to Apple Music for just $4.99. Student verification technology provider UNiDAY is working with Apple to ensure students are actually enrolled in classes.

New and existing customers are eligible for the price cut. Students can start a new plan or make changes to current plan within the Music app on iOS and Android.
