Ever wanted to show something to somebody really badly while you were on the phone with them, but couldnt? So you had to end the conversation with something like Ill send you an email or Ill send it over on Facebook? A newly discovered patent filed with the U.S Patent and Trademark Office showcases that Apple is thinking of ways to solve such an issue.
The invention described in the patent details a system that allows the user to put a caller on hold in order to share content. The setup will allow the user to place a caller on hold and further on will have to correctly identify when that happens and act according to it.
The content that can be shared via the system can range between everything like pictures, music, videos, status updates, upcoming events, books, recorded messages and more. After a user has been put on hold, the patent explains, a menu should pop up allowing the visualization of content. Also, specific callers can be made to have access to different information. For example, your group of friends can have access to your status updates while your sister can only receive Music.
The sharing mode will be terminated once the user decides to go back to the caller. The patent describing the on-hold visual menu lists as creators Donald W. Pitschel, Imran Chaudhri, Freddy Anzures and Marcel van Os.
