Good news for those of us who have been waiting for Apple to patch a variety of bugs that have arisen in iOS 9 with today’s release of iOS 9.0.1. The 35.0 MB update is now available to all iOS 9 users as an over-the-air update.
The minor update fixes the widely reported issue that stopped some users from completing setup assistant after updating, as well as the issue that meant that alarms and timers failed to play, the issue in Safari and Photos where pausing video could make the paused frame seem distorted, and finally, the issue where some users with a custom APN setup via a profile were losing cellular data.
As MacRumors notes, this is a very minor, but much-needed update to iOS 9, which was released on September 16. The first major update to iOS 9 will be iOS 9.1, which is set to include new emoji, as well as settings to help adapt “Hey Siri” activation to an individual’s voice.
