Apple released this week a new commercial for the iPhone 5. Its been named FaceTime Every Day because it lays emphasis on the benefits provided by the FaceTime interconnectivity. Previous iPhone ads launched by Apple Music Every Day and Photos Every Day showcased the uses of the Camera app and the Music app.
The commercial features a very simple story line which shows people of different ages using the iPhones FaceTime application. We see all kinds of situations in the video: a woman showing a house she might want to buy to her husband/boyfriend who is probably away, a young man shyly sending a virtual kiss to his significant other, kids taking a backpacking trip with their granddad and saying hi to grandma via FaceTime.
These are every-day situations, in which we see people connecting with their loved ones who are out of reach. The commercial is being complemented by a beautiful classic piano theme. We can hear an actors voice towards the end of the clip saying calmly that Every day more people connect face to face on the iPhone than any other phone.
The Every Day series of commercials have been proven to be very popular with the general public but with critics alike, due to their simplistic yet powerful way of pointing out the benefits of the specific apps. Have you had your FaceTime today?
