Apple is king of the mobile phone industry and with good reason. No matter what enemies come up with, it seems its still not good enough for users. Yes, Android or Windows phones have their fair share of enthusiasts , but nothing compares with the good old iPhone 4 or iPhone 3 GS is were to judge by the NPDs top best-selling mobile handset list for the third quarter.
Heres how the list goes:
What some readers might sense odd is that the mega popular iPhone 4S is missing from the top. People were reportedly sitting in lines for hours on end to get their adherent little hands on them, but the device doesnt seem to have made it to this quarter. But with iPhone 3GS and 4 price tags dropping since the new baby 4S came into the world, it certainly would be interesting to see if Apple manages to gain 3 spots in the last quarter of the year.
Whats even more surprising about this chart is the dominance of the aging Apple iPhone 3GS, who managed to tower over the avalanche of Android phones in the United States, that despite all reluctance, brings in some neat innovations. Apple released the iPhone 3GS back in 2009. Now you can get the 3GS for free and the iPhone 4 for only $99 on a two year plan, both being available in a 8GB storage capacity.
