Although betas have been releasing for the past few months, Apple new told us a specific date when the new firmware would release. Well, that changed at Apple's 'Hey Siri' event this morning. The fruit company announced that watchOS 2 would be coming to everyone's wrist on September 16th.
watchOS 2 promises to bring speedier performance to the Apple Watch with native app support. This means that apps will no longer need to load wirelessly through a users iPhone, instead they'll be installed directly onto the Apple Watch storage. Apart from that, watchOS 2 brings third-party complications, transit information, two new watchfaces, and Nightstand mode.
