Apple's iOS 9 now has an 80 Percent Adoption Rate

Apple's "Let Us Loop You In" event on Monday showed us some new devices, new Apple Watch bands, and the usual news on the company's latest milestones. One important piece of information that seemed to fly over everyone's heads was the iOS 9 adoption rate.

Apple's Vice President in iPhone Marketing Greg Joswiak mentioned that iOS 9 now on 80 percent of devices in the wild. The adoption rate is significantly higher than the latest Android firmware, Marshmallow, which currently sits on 2.3 percent of smartphones.

Android Lollipop currently leads the Android race, currently installed on 36.1 percent of devices, while Android KitKit is on 34.3 percent.
