I have an iPhone 4 that stopped working. I restored it and still nothing, so i'm assuming it has to be something internal. If I were to take it to the Apple store, what is their procedure for replacing it? Do they just do a first impression test and then replace it, or do they take it to the back and take it apart and all that?

They will take it back in inspection room to inspect it. Usually it takes less than 30mn. After that they will let you know what they can do for you. Have you tried to open the phone or something?

No. Would they be able to find out whether or not maybe a wire has come undone or unplugged or something?

Yeah they will. If it's the user mistake then no replacement, if it can be justify by a fall of the phone or something else then they will change it into a new one.
