Buying Used I-phone- Itunes account

Hi. I'm buying my friends iphone 4, And i'm wondering. I know he has an account set up or whatever so he doesn't have to enter his information and whatever everytime he wants to buy an app or song or somthing. If I buy his iphone, Will I be able to disable his account or somthing, and put my own on it? And If I can, Can I still keep all of the apps and stuff he has downloaded on the iphone?

You can log in with your app, however it will not be legal to us your friends apps. That's against the rules and it's illegal.

You will not be able to update any of his apps anyway because you don't have his password and it will be against the apple rules to share accounts.
