calendar will only show event for selected date

Hi. Every now and again, the calender app will revert to date only mode, where a little dot next to the date sigifies an entry. I want to be able to swipe and see at a glance, both the dates and events for the coming weeks. I have no idea how to return to this mode or how to stop the problem reoccurring. Can anyone help please?

I suppose your calendar looks like this now:

Tap one of the days to get to day view, then select the list icon at the top:

This will bring you to the next screen, where you find a list of events:

You'll be able to scroll through that list.

Thank you J.A. I didn't know how to post screen shots so I'm grateful to you showing the various pages. Your solution worked a treat. I suspect that I've got lost before and recovered by accident. I've always thought that it was a glitch. Much appreciated.
