This my be a silly question, my friend bought up this question regarding jailbreaking. Can credit card info hacked thru apps like the app store, amazon, or any other apps the holds your card information? Has anyone ever heard of info being stolen because of jailbreaking?

It could be stolen but it would be hard to do. But there isn't a high risk of it happening. Never heard of any info like that to be stolen from apple though.

Apple has a history of building some of the world's most secure devices. If you're jailbroken, as long as you changed your SSH password, you should be fine. I've never heard of it happening.

Oh ok, I don't think I have that step up, but when I do jailbreak is it recommended that I do change the ssh password?

Please I need help no FaceTime on iphone4 with ios5.0.1 use t - mobile network

You may have to generate another thread to get your question answered

Is there a thread on changing the SSH password?

You shouldn't have to change it as you most certainly don't have it installed. To engage in SSH you should install the OpenSSH package in Cydia. But mind changing your passwords. A clean jailbreak does not install the OpenSSH package.

You might be better off not using SSH, its not mandatory to use it, and if you dont change the password it is very likely that you can get a virus. There was a "Rick Astley" virus a while ago and I got it on my iphone 4 just by using SSH once, then deleting it because i really wasnt interested in using it and i did not change password the 2 days i had it, and i realized i had the virus after phone lagging a lot and some other symptoms and I googled the heck out of solutions and finally got rid of it by deleting files I had to find in the phone system, and re-downloaded terminal and changed the password and then got rid of it again and never used it since.

Facetime works with wifi, but I believe it sends one sms for activation.

Try this also: turn facetime off, and then go to settings-general-reset- reset NETWORK settings

And then after that do a reboot and turn facetime back on

So I plan on jailbreaking my phone soon, but I don't care about sharing files or using ssh, should I even worry about changing my SSH password?

You should definitely change ssh password even if you use it only once.
