Can the desktop clock be made larger?

The lockscreen has the time in a large font. The desktop clock is teeny tiny.

The app store has hundreds of clock apps, but they all seem to be alarm clocks. I'm not sure that that's what I need.

I'd like something for the desktop that I can see without running for glasses. Or can the clock at the top be made larger?

(Is desktop the correct term for the app screen?)

This is quite easily atainable... however, it requires a Jailbreak. Cydia sources have several nice "springboard" clock themes that will give you what you're looking for.
