Can you copy photos back to the iPhone 4 ?

I have an image I took (solid black) to use as the background. I want to modify it and add an "If found" message to the lock screen, but can't copy the image back to the phone with drag and drop.

What is the best way to do this?

Okay, figured out Drag-and-drop will not cut it. I ended up sync'ing a folder and got the desired result.
