Cant change notification sound in gmail

I got the gmail app on my iPhone 5, no matter what I change the sound to it stays set to the default. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks

what are you actually doing to try to change it? we need more information.

I change it in the gmail settings and I have it set in the sounds also. Does that help?

i always change mine in setting-sounds but you say it stays set in default.....try this,do a hard reset by holding your home button and on/off button down together,let go when the apple appears and your phone will reboot,try again after that and let us know how it went.
