Can't see movie trailers or film clips

My favorite site, Internet Movie Database, features movie trailers as well as film clips when using my PC. Using my 3GS however, I see no options for such viewing. Only still photo options are shown. Is this because the clips/trailers require flash capability? I heard that there's an option to go on the regular website rather than the mobile version but I don't know if that's an option. My friend says that the internet seen on smartphones is abridged.
