I had a popular car mount for my iPhone 5 that worked well. It affixed itself to the fins of the air vent on my car.
Thinking that the 6 Plus I had ordered wouldn't fit this mount I decided to get a new mount that has a large enough grip for the 6 plus and isn't intimidated by the increase in size or weight.

Having installed this in my Nissan Maxima and inserted the phone into its cradle, I must save I am very pleased with the combination of metal and plastic materials which give this mount a solid and sturdy feel. I can hold the 6 Plus horizontally or vertically, with or without a case. And of course it will fit the iPhone 6 as well.
