Carrie sertings update?

Hi folks. I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 and haven't updated to 5.0.1 or whatever the new version is. I am getting a notice about new carrier settings update available. Wondering if I update, will it affect my jb in any way.

No, carrier settings do not do anything to your firmware or baseband.
