Categories for phone contacts

I would like to set up some contact categories on my new iPhone (e.g. businesses, family, friends, etc.). I was told this would be possible using my Outlook address Book, but that only contains email contact addresses (which is not what I want). I have the contacts and their phone numbers synced to the phone, but how can I categorize them?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Under the contacts section in outlook is were you organize the groups.

OK. So how do I get the iPhone to sync the info from Outlook? I plugged in the phone and it indicated it was syning, but there were no categories (?)

There are tabs at the top go thru each and select what you want synced. Check the tic box "sync to outlook"

"There are tabs at the top" the top of what? Outlook Express?- No, there are no tabs.

The iPhone? No, there are no tabs there either.

What am I missing?

lol.... ITunes!!! Once your phone is plugged in you will see the sync tabs.
