hi all

I have had a search for what I'm looking for but not found anything of any use so apologies if this has been covered

I have an I phone 5. It had died completely and would not respond. So I have changed the charge port and fit a new battery. It is now working again.

The issue is it isn't charging to full charge according to the % indicator. It is also giving out some heat not excessive amounts just like its being used but when it's not in use.

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas?

Cheers

It's possible you have a short circuit somewhere. Is the battery draining excessively even when you're not using the phone?

Yes it does seem to drain a bit even with all background apps disabled. Is there anywhere imparticular the short could be? Or any recconmend actions where to start?

Cheers pal

Before stripping it down and replacing parts in an attempt to fix the problem, you may want to take it to a reputable repair shop to have a diagnostic done. This would pinpoint the problem and help avoid any unnecessary work.
