Chewsy Good Food and Restaurant Guide Helps You Choose Your Food

Cnet’s Crave blog test-drives a very useful-looking iPhone app called Chewsy today. Chewsy is designed to help you when you might be visiting a restaurant for the first time, for example, and don’t know what to order because you’re completely unfamiliar with the menu, or if you’re somewhere you’ve been before but want to try something new. Chewsy’s Menu Guide enables you to swiftly identify where you are and then shows you food and drink reviews by real people. The app doesn’t just provide reviews either, it also makes it easier for you to find a suitable restaurant for your tastes when you’re new to an area, and it won’t just show you a list of nearby restaurants, it will also show you the top-rated food that’s nearest to your current location. You can also help other would-be diners by adding your own review to the app.

Obviously it’s a huge undertaking to feature so many reviews in one app, but Chewsy’s developers claim to have already built up a trusted network of thousands of reviews across tens of thousands of restaurants. Real reviews by real people, they stress. So far they have amassed content in the 11 cities listed here, but more will be added soon:
