We doubt that this was something Apple is too happy about. The Chinese carrier, China Telecom, just confirmed the upcoming release of the iPhone 6, including its name, some of its details and its final design.
As you can see from the pic above, China Telecom seems to have jumped the gun a bit. Not only are they advertising the iPhone 6, they also shared that it will come with a wide variety of radios including TDD-LTE, FDD-LTE, WCDMA, CDMA2000, GSM, and CDMA1X. They also noted that the device will be sold unlocked so it can be used on multiple different carrier networks in China.
Apple typically likes to keep tight control over the announcement of their devices so we can't imagine Tim Cook is too thrilled about this move from the Chinese telecom. This is a major breech in contract for the carrier since Apple's partners are forbidden to discuss the release of new Apple products before they are given permission.
It makes you wonder how Apple will "punish" the company for this blatant disregard of policy.
