For the first time since the iTunes was first launched, Apple is looking to reinvent the design of the web store in order to make it more interactive and attractive to customers. The tweaks and upgrades will be arriving to iTunes Music, TV Shows, Movies as well as sections of the App Store.
One of the complaints users had with iTunes store was the difficulty in locating new software for mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch). The upcoming overhauling of the website will probably fix these issues and add a few extra functionalities in the process.
Apple will focus on the iTunes Store that runs Mac and PC iTunes applications of course. Even if Apple still dominates the digital music market in the United States, recently released streaming services such as Spotify and Amazons online music store are attracting a lot of attention and are gaining a lot of popularity. With this update Apple wants to ensure it will stay on top.
The new interface is expected to sport a simpler and more intuitive design. Apple will focus on the key aspect of refine search options and is also looking to increase speed as well. Interaction seems to be another important element in the new concept as the Cupertino company is looking to transform the iTunes stores into a truly engaging experience.
The exact date for the new iTunes store launch is not known exactly, but theoretically Apple could scheduled it somewhere in late 2012, according to some rumors.
