Hi there. Im new to the iPhone world and would like to know if its possible to have my fave contacts on the home screen. I would prefer to have them individually so I can just click and call/text but even just having them as a group would be fine too. I have a very very new baby and using Siri is a pain as is having to go to phone and find a contact that way. Would be way easier to just click and call/text. Can this be done? Ive searched the Apps and cant find anything. Thanks.

Melissa

Do you have the "contacts" icon showing on your phone? They hide it in the utilities folder when you first get your phone. I find it easier to get to that rather than going through the phone icon. Although with the phone icon you can pick "favorites". I have the "Faces" App and you can do grouping there. I do not know of any app that would put an individual contact on your home screen though. Others might know...

If your iPhone was jailbroken there is a tweak called "HomeScreen Contacts".

It allows you to choose any contact and make an SpringBoard(home screen) icon for it. It uses the contacts's picture as the app icon.

Using it is easy.

Open the Phone.app, tap on Contacts.
Locate the contact you want add and open it. At the bottom of the screen a new button is put there by the tweak that says "Add To Home Screen".

Tap that button, and the contact is added to the home screen as a SpringBoard icon.

Tap the icon, it open like a folder. There you will see 3 buttons. A "call" and "Send Message" and a home button...which is the contacts email address if there is one.

An alternative to "fast calling" would be to use a tweak called KuaiDial.

Once installed its super charges the stock Phone.app.

Open the Phone.app, and type in any name into the Dial pad (T9 functionality) and whatever letters you type the correct contacts name will show. If the contact is not rite, just swipe across the number to reveal other contacts that also have the corresponding letters that you typed in. Plus it remembers what numbers you call most often, so the more often you call a number the less letters you have to type into the dial pad.

Another alternative tweak for "Fast Calling" would he a tweak called CallBar..that also needs I have Actjvator or QuickDo installed to work. Activator and QuicDo are tweaks that allow you to assign literally any swipe, tap, double tap, 3 finger drag/swipe/hold, or button press to do literally whatever action you want.

Anyway...with CallBar, just open QuickDo/Activator and then tap "Anywhere".

Then choose whatever gesture you want. There are so many to choose from. I use center hold.

I tap and hold on the very bottom edge of my screen on the center and this pops down:

I Tao the dial pad icon and this pops down:

I tap the Contacts icon and the contacts list slides up.

Can activate the quick calm dialer from literally anywhere...in an app...on the SpringBoard...on the lock screen. Like this:

And believe it or not..this is the contact list on my "lock screen" after tapping the Contacts icon:

These tweak are awesome.

But as I said...you must be jailbroken to have such functionality.

Check out a little program called FaceDial Fast. You can have up to 12 pictures on a page and it will dial right from that picture.

I also used an app called Contacts EX that let me create groups and the groups appear in the Apple Contact app. I keep the FaceDial Fast app in the lower right corner of the phone so no matter what page I'm on I can dial any of those folks with a touch of their picture.
