Convert wma files to play on iTunes

Hi. I have a pen drive with a lot of music but they are in WMA format been looking on line how to convert these songs to play on my MacBook using iTunes
.
What would be the best option please there are a lot of files if I can only convert a dozen or so.
have tried the conversion using iTunes and failed.
