copy and paste/fwd text messaging videos and pics

Wife jus left iphone 4 for the 5 and she's telling me she can't long press and image or video from a previous text message and copy and paste it or fwd it to someone else. Says she has to go back into photo app to do so. She said she could do this on her iphone 4 . anyone else experienced this?

I have an iPhone 5 and I copy and paste all the time with no problems. This includes photos and etc. I have had mine for a cpl ofonths now.
