Only a couple of days ago rumours surfaced that Apple might be thinking of launching an iWatch as soon as next year. Now today, Apple expert analyst Gene Munster at Piper Jaffray has said in a note to investors that he doesn’t see an Apple watch happening anytime soon, according to AppleInsider. However, despite saying that the iWatch is a no-go for now, Munster does have a particularly interesting prediction of his own as to what Apple might be getting up to in the more distant future, saying that he thinks that over the next 10 years, wearable computers could eventually replace the iPhone and other smartphones.
Munster went on to say that such wearable devices could eventually become cheaper than the iPhone to manufacture, and that wearable computers might be able to measure your body temperature, act as a pedometer and count your steps, tell you how many calories you burned, test your blood sugar, and so on."We believe technology could progress to a point where consumers have a tablet plus wearable computers, like watches or glasses, that enable simple things like voice calls, texting, quick searches, navigation, etc. through voice control," said Munster. "Longer term, screens in glasses or projectors could replace the necessity of a screen from a smartphone or tablet."
