I jailbroke my iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1 but when I try to install a tweak, I get the error messages:

subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1

sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Not sure what the issue is here. I used GeekSn0w and the process went fine. But now I am kind of at a loss.

That issue is from the improper loading of Cydia sources and hosts. The old resolution was to re-run the utility up to a certain point and closing it all out for say Evasi0n7. Not sure if it'll work for GeekSn0w. If you can SSH onto your device, if you have afc2add on your device, or, if iFunBox has the Cydia App Install branch, you can resolve it by editing Cydia files with the below instructions:

use ifile or ifunbox:

Navigate to /private/etc/apt/sources.list.d

Delete the file "cydia.list"

Navigate to /var/lib/apt/lists

Delete all of the files in this folder except the one called "lock"

Navigate to /var/lib/apt/lists/partial

Delete all of the files in this folder

Navigate to /var/lib/cydia

Delete the file "metadata.plist"

Restart Cydia.
